With a Reynolds 853 frame, a versatile trail geometry built around 120-140mm forks, room for 29 x 2.6″ tires, and plenty of mounts, the Cotic SolarisMAX has long been on our list of interesting bikepacking-friendly steel hardtails. And the latest iteration just got a little more interesting. According to Cotic, the new frame receives a lighter, stronger seat tube with a new braze-on clamp. Plus, there’s an additional pair of bosses under the down tube for an extra bottle cage or other bikepacking luggage, as well as two new colors.
The Cotic SolarisMAX is available in four sizes ranging from small to extra large. There are now four colors available, all in a lovely subtle metal flake coating. The existing Midnight Blue and Supernova Orange carry on, along with the Hubble Purple and Cotic’s brand new Froggatt Green (Froggatt is the next village up the valley from Cotic). The SolarisMAX frame starts at £719 ($975). Find details over at Cotic.co.uk.
