Just announced, the Jones LWB Complete Bike V3 has an updated components list, a few new features, and comes in a limited edition purple. Find details and a video about its release here…
Originally introduced in 2014, the Jones LWB is a true all-terrain bike. The LWB’s long wheelbase with a set back and upright posture puts riders in a relaxed position designed to hit the sweet spot between comfort and efficiency, and it serves as a do-all platform for everything from technical trails to long gravel rides and bikepacking. It’s graced the pages of this website over the years in all types of configurations and bikepacking setups.
The Jones Plus LWB “complete bike” was announced in 2019 as more wallet-friendly way to buy a Jones. It retains the same geometry as the original frameset, with a few changes to manufacturing to help cut costs. The two most notable differences to the frame are the use of non-heat-treated, butted tubing and the loss of the eccentric bottom bracket, as seen on the custom specced version. The first batch of Jones Plus LWB complete bikes sold out quickly, and the second batch is almost gone. Jones just released a third batch of complete bikes—now simply called the Jones LWB—which is built with the same frameset with some updated features and parts. The Jones LWB Complete Bike V3 is available in black or a limited edition purple (Pantone 7665) with your choice of smooth or knobby tires and hydraulic or mechanical brakes. There are only 250 purple bikes available worldwide.
The new Jones LWB Complete Bike V3 gets a Box 9-speed drivetrain, which as you’ll see in the video below, Jeff tested quite a bit before committing to. It’s offered with your choice of Alhonga mechanical or Magura hydraulic brakes and either 29 x 3.0″ Vee T-Fatty tires or fast-rolling 2.8″ Speedsters. The remainder of the parts on the V3 complete are Jones-spec, including all the cockpit components and the 710mm Jones H-bars.
Jones LWB Complete Bike V3 is available in three sizes: small, medium, or large, and it ranges in price from $3,090 to $3,447, depending on brake and tire selection. You can find all the details over at JonesBikes.com.
