Announced today, the new Panorama Torngat Ti is the Canadian brand’s first titanium fat bike, and they’re offering it with two spindle lengths for summer and winter applications. Check it out here…
Quebec-based Panorama Cycles launched in 2016 with a carbon fat bike, and they’ve always stayed true to their mission to design all-terrain adventure machines. Announced today, the new Panorama Torngat Ti is their first titanium fat bike and first model designed specifically to play nicely with two crank widths (Q-factor) for summer and winter use.
According to Panorama Cycles, the Torngat Ti offers three types of use: as a fat bike with a standard fat bike crank (205mm Q-factor) and 27.5 x 4.5″ tires, as a fat bike with 27.5 x 4″ tires and a more ergonomic 185mm Q-factor, and as an hardtail mountain bike with 27.5 x 4″ or 29 x 3″ tires and a 185mm Q-factor crankset. Panorama will be selling the Torngat Ti with a Race Face Cinch crankset including the two spindle lengths, so the customer will be able to swap the Q-factor (distance between the crank arms) based on their tire choice and personal preference.
“The challenge with this bike design was to have enough clearance for the widest tires on the market, but also to fit a narrow Q-factor crank,” explained by Simon Bergeon, founder of Panorama Cycles. He continued, “The bottom bracket area, the rear wheel spacing, and the shaping of the chainstays and seatstays were the key design elements to make this happen. The Torngat Ti is possibly the only fatbike on the market that offers two spindle lengths, so our customers can adjust the Q-factor on their bike based on their tire choice. All in all, this was a challenging design, but the outcome is making us very excited.”
