After years of building custom full-length top tube bags, Zach Smith of South City Stitchworks has collected enough data to offer four stock Full-Distance top tube bag sizes. Full-length top tube bags have become a favorite among bikepackers because they offer easy access to storage for snacks, tools, and anything else that fits.

As Zach puts it, “When you’re deep in the backcountry, your top tube space is prime real estate for fuel, electronics, and morale boosters. You’ll find SCSW Full-Distance bags on finishing rigs at Tour Divide, DOOM, Colorado Trail Race, Arizona Trail Race, Arkansas High Country, Baja Divide, Silk Road, Hellenic, Atlas Mountain Race, Stagecoach, and more.”

Each Full-Distance top tube bag features three internal compartments to keep everything organized, two-way YKK Aquaguard zippers, an internal foam floor, and a daisy-chained shock cord/Velcro attachment system. That way, if you’re running a lace-up frame bag, you can integrate the top tube bag into the same lace system.

The bags are constructed from premium Ultra 200 fabric, making them lighter and more durable than EcoPak or X-Pac. The stock version carries over the details that made the custom build a favorite, including an external stash pocket and a cord port. The Full-Distance top tube bag comes in four lengths: 17, 19, 21, or 23 inches. Each size is 1.75 inches at the front, tapering down to 1.5 inches at the rear. The height also tapers from 4 to 3 inches.
