For Lael Wilcox, long-distance cycling evolved into ultra-endurance racing and developing a girls’ biking mentorship program and women’s scholarships. Lael holds the women’s record for the Tour Divide and won the 2016 Trans Am, among other accomplishments. She’s a Rapha sponsored athlete and is the founder Anchorage GRIT, a middle school bicycle mentorship program for 7th grade girls in Anchorage, AK, and the Lael Rides Alaska Scholarship. Lael Wilcox rolled out of Banff just a couple weeks ago for her 2021 Tour Divide individual time trial. The first couple of days seemed to be going well, despite a run-in with a mountain lion.
