2026 Mountaineer Monster

The 2nd Annual Mountaineer Monster Grand Depart kicks off at sunrise on October 24, 2025, taking riders on an unforgettable adventure through the rugged terrain of north-central West Virginia, aka Mountaineer Country. Cryptid-curious social riders and racers looking to set an FKT are all welcome!

This self-supported bikepacking race/ride offers 110, 270, and 465-mile routes across the region’s best adventure gravel riding that is “wild and wonderful”, rugged and spicy. Think epic riding meets local West Virginia culture and lore with an integrated cryptid scavenger hunt. You might wanna think about riding as a team, cuz you’ll probably be too scared to ride it solo. With Halloween vibes, local community involvement, and a nod to legendary monsters like Bigfoot, Mothman, and the Grafton Monster, this event promises a thrilling, one-of-a-kind bikepacking experience.
