The Stagecoach 400 is California’s longest mountain bike route, highlighting Southern California’s geographic and cultural diversity. The route illustrates our area’s unique proximity to mountains, desert, and ocean…and stands out among peer events for its challenges. The ride will crisscross historic routes such as the Juan Bautista DeAnza trail, the Great Southern Overland Stage Route of 1849, and the Ramona Stage Route. We will roll out from Idyllwild in the spring for the yearly Grand Depart. This is a strictly self-supported event.

The Sideshow starts on March 27th (one week before the Stagecoach). It will go clockwise around a slightly modified classic Stagecoach route, focusing on the ride being a self-paced tour where riders can soak in some of the favorite spots, such as Iron Door Bar, Agua Caliente Hot Springs, the Pub at Lake Cuyamaca, maybe even dip your toes in the ocean at Blacks Beach during low tide. The Grand Depart riders will eagerly await conditions reports from this group.
