All Points North is an unsupported cycling event across the north of England. Starting and finishing in Sheffield, our third edition, #APN22, will feature ten new controls scattered across the north of England.

Riders will need to ride approximately 1000km in order to visit all ten controls, but there’s no set route so, ultimately, the order you visit the controls and the route that you take between them, is entirely up to you. You’ll need to be completely self-sufficient throughout with no outside assistance unless it’s commerically available to all riders.

In the UK, thanks to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the traditional May spring bank holiday has been moved to June in 2022. Riders will leave A Different Gear bike shop in Sheffield at 8pm on Thursday 2nd June and, although there’s no official time cut-off, a hot buffet meal will be served to finishers from 8pm onwards on Sunday, 6th June.

In 2021 we introduced a ‘Rookie’ category for those who are new to bikepacking and feel like they would benefit from a daytime start and an extra eight hours. It was so succesful that we’ll be keeping this format for 2022. Rookie places are limited to 30 and these riders will set off at the earlier time of 12 noon on the 2nd.

We have 100 places up for grabs – 30 Rookies, 50 solo riders and 10 pairs and entries will go live in November 2021. The entry fee will remain at £95.00 plus £50 tracker deposit.
