In the Arab era, a province on the Iberian Peninsula stretched from the Middle and Upper Guadalquivir to La Serena, crossing the Valle del Guadiato, Los Pedroches, the Valle de Alcudia, and La Siberia Extremeña—territory today shared by Córdoba, Ciudad Real, and Badajoz (Andalucía, Castilla-La Mancha, and Extremadura). That land was called Fahs al-Ballūṭ, the Plain of Acorns—now reimagined as Balutia—a mosaic of remote, seldom-visited landscapes in the southern half of Spain.

Inspired by that ancient province, we’ve designed an ultradistance route: 870 km of tracks and roads blending cycling, travel, adventure, and exploration. It is self-supported—participants must complete it by their own means—within a maximum of six days, traversing wild sierras, dehesas, and reservoirs of striking beauty.
