Balutia is an 870 km self-supported gravel adventure through the remote inland of southern Spain. Held in late April, when spring is at its finest across Andalucía, Castilla-La Mancha, and Extremadura, it offers riders the chance to swap long winters for quiet gravel roads, blooming landscapes, and days made for riding. The route is evenly split between unpaved tracks and beautiful winding secondary roads that weave through the region’s rolling hills and mountains.
Now in its second edition, the route is inspired by Fahs al-Ballut, an ancient province of Al-Andalus that once covered much of this forgotten corner of the Iberian Peninsula. Crossing regions such as Los Pedroches, Valle del Guadiato, Valle de Alcudia, and La Siberia Extremeña, Balutia reveals one of Spain’s least-known and least-ridden landscapes.
Over six days, riders travel through dehesas, rugged sierras, reservoirs, oak forests, and small villages where history and nature remain deeply intertwined. The route is fully self-supported, inviting participants to embrace adventure, self-reliance, and the simple rhythm of life on the bike.
