Bikepacking Trans Germany is a new mountain bike route across Germany that was tackled in its entirety for the first time in July 2016. The route starts in the town of Basel, Switzerland, where the Swiss, French and German borders meet and runs for 1600km/1000 miles to the northeastern corner of Germany on Rügen island in the Baltic sea.

The route is intended for quick progress, with only a few technical or hike-a-bike sections. A large percentage of the route passes through forests on cycle tracks, forest roads, and some singletrack. There are also several ferry crossings involved. Total elevation gain is approximately 20,000m/66,000ft.
