BikingMan Oman 2018

UPDATE (Race Recap): The inaugural edition kept all its promises with unprecedented stories happening during the race. The Jebel Shams climb, highlight of BMO 2018 was clearly confirmed as one of the hardest climb in the world by all our athletes. The desert conditions were challenging for every one with temperatures peaking at 36°C and some wind. Overall we have been positively surprised by the number of finishers, especially considering the numbers of first-timers we had on the starting line. We also have witnessed something rare: a sprint at the finish between the top 4 leaders, an unforgettable experience for both athletes and the race organization! We look forward to see how the top lead will battle for the next races of the season… The first male solo rider was Rodney Soncco (Peru) with a time of 46 hours, 17 min. Juliana Buhring (Italy) was the first female solo with a time of 49 hours, 53 min. The first team pair to finish was Mohamed Awad Obaid Al – Shandoudi & Hatem Hamdan Hammad Alboushri (Oman) with a time of 71 hours, 30 min. Our friend Josh Ibbett finished in second with a time of 49 hours, 43 min – we met up with Josh in Kelowna, BC during his trip around the world.
