Catskill Bikepacking Route Grand Depart (2023)

When: June 16, 2023 Grand Depart, or ride the route independently at any time

Where: The Route officially starts and finishes in Ellenville NY, although being a loop, it can be started at any point that is most convenient.

This self supported bikepacking route is not a race. There is no entry fee, no starting gun, and no cheering finish line. The 250+ mile route circumnavigates the Catskill mountains while climbing over 25,000 vertical feet. On this route you will find all types of terrain: smooth paved road, flowing singletrack descents and gnarly hike-a-bike. For the fit and experienced bikepacker, this route is intended to be completed in about 3 days. Additional time would be needed for those who plan to travel more slowly, or at a touring pace.

To comply with state rules, the Grand Depart will be limited to 19 participants. To be included in the Grand Depart starting list, please send a letter of intent detailing your qualifications and experience to aaron@nyara.org
