Good Night 2020 is a local overnighter challenge between December 26th and 31st, inviting everyone to sleep under the stars, have a good night outdoors, and send off an otherwise crappy year.
Most of our readers are probably familiar with the Festive 500, Rapha’s annual campaign to motivate cyclists (mostly road riders) to rack up 500 kilometers between Christmas and New Year’s Day. It’s a great initiative, but it’s not for everyone. We came up with another end-of-year challenge that’s slightly more accessible (and bikepacking-friendly) to encourage folks to venture into nature for a night within the same time frame. Good Night 2020 is an open-invite event that we hope will inspire our community to get out on a local, self-supported overnighter in the last week of the year to sleep under the stars, have a good night outdoors, and bid farewell to an otherwise crappy year.
