GranGarda Gravel Rando is a self-supported cycling event around Lake Garda, Italy…
GranGarda Gravel Rando is a single-stage ride across rugged peaks, deep forests, mellow hills, vineyards and olive groves. The route goes by the most iconic trails and mountain passes of the area, discovering small stone villages and lakeside charming towns.
The event is more focused on the experience rather than the final results. There are no prizes, medals or finisher diplomas. There’s no time limit, but the ride will be tracked and timed by GPRS devices.
The loop feature a considerable elevation gain and many steep climbs. The terrain is a mix of secondary paved roads (40%) fast gravel roads (40%) rocky mule tracks (10%) and single tracks (10%) including about 4 kilometres of hike-a-bike.
It’s a gravel-ish route for drop bar bikes with low gearing and wide tires. Hardtail mountain bikes will equally do a great job.
Distance: 350km
Elevation gain: 10.000m+
