Green Karst Trail 2026

The fifth edition of the Green Karst Trail returns to the remote terrain of the Slovenian Karst – Hidden Treasures of the Postojna Cave Area. Ride through forests, across seasonal lakes and between remote castles and mansions, discovering hidden corners of Slovenia.

The Green Karst Trail offers two routes:
– Green route: 300 km / 5,000 m elevation (gravel paradise)
– Red route: 450 km / 7,800 m elevation (MTB recommended)

Designed for riders who value self-supported bikepacking in unspoiled nature. A multi-day gravel and MTB adventure with no pressure of competition — just distance, elevation, and your own rhythm.

There is no outside support, although free hot soup and water are available at selected Green Karst Friendly Points.

This is not a race, but a true test of endurance and self-sufficiency. The course is not marked; each rider receives an official GPX track and a tracking device for real-time tracking via www.bikeslovenia.si
