“La J’sépasouj’vé 2026” : Embracing the Unknown

How much do we really need to know about the road ahead? In a world of meticulous planning and pre-scouted GPX files, a new french event is asking riders to let go of the map and lean into the mystery of an unknown journey.. Tempted ? Join “La J’sépasouj’vé” organized by “Bande de Konas”.

The name itself is a bit of a tongue-twister for the uninitiated. Derived from the french phrase “Je ne sais pas où je vais” (I don’t know where I’m going), La J’sépasouj’vé is less of a race and more of a journey into the unknown. Scheduled for 18th-20th September 2026, this 400-kilometer (250-mile) self-supported adventure is designed to strip away the distractions of “the finish line” and put the focus back on the immediate surroundings.

The Concept: Navigation in the Dark

The core hook of “La J’sépasouj’vé” is its “blind navigation” format. Unlike traditional events where you spend weeks over-analyzing the elevation profile, participants here start with a blank screen.

The full GPX track is never released. Instead, riders receive the route in segments –roughly every 75 to 100 kilometers– thanks to a QR code along the route. The next chapter of the adventure is therefore revealed once the participant finished the previous one. This “breadcrumbs” approach levels the playing field and ensures that everyone —from the seasoned ultra-endurance athlete to the first-timer bikepacker— experiences the same sense of discovery.

A Gateway to Adventure

While a 400km route is no Sunday stroll, the organizers have intentionally designed “La J’sépasouj’vé” to be an “accessible” entry point into the world of multi-day bikepacking. If you’ve been looking for the perfect “shakedown” ride to test your equipment or simply to test yourself over a long weekend, this event is for you, don’t miss it !

The three-day window provides a manageable pace for those transitioning from overnight “sub-24” trips to more ambitious journeys. It’s a chance to practice the art of self-sufficiency —managing your water, food, and sleep systems— within a supportive atmosphere all along the journey.

No Podiums, Just Stories

If you’re looking for a leaderboard or a trophy, you’re in the wrong place. “La J’sépasouj’vé” is strictly a non-competitive affair. There are no timers, no rankings, and no “winners.” It’s all about conversations at the supply stops, shared struggle up a steep climb, and collective campfire at the end of the day.

Where cycling can sometimes feel dominated by watts and aero gains, this event is a refreshing reminder of why many of us started riding in the first place: to see what’s around the next unknown corner !
