Sisters in the Wild presents a 10-day WILDER-series expedition for women and non-binary riders through Kyrgyzstan’s most spectacular high alpine terrain. This challenging journey traverses glacial valleys, climbs multiple passes above 3,000 meters (highest at 3,400m), and circumnavigates the stunning Song-Köl Lake. Accommodations alternate between wild camping in dramatic mountain settings, traditional yurt camps on high plateaus, and welcoming village homestays, delivering an authentic Central Asian experience with deep immersion in Kyrgyz nomadic culture.
Designed for experienced off-road riders comfortable with high-altitude riding and remote wilderness, this trip features daily distances averaging 70km with significant elevation gain (1,000-1,500m most days) across approximately 75% off-road terrain. The route includes technical double-track gravel trails, washboard roads, and sustained climbs made more challenging by altitude. Riders should be confident with steep, loose descents and prepared for occasional hike-a-bike sections on the steepest gradients near pass summits.
With luggage transported in a 4×4 support vehicle, riders carry only daily essentials, allowing them to focus entirely on the incredible riding and landscapes. The trip is supported by British Cycling and First Aid qualified Sisters in the Wild guides alongside local Kyrgyz guides and support driver, who also serves as camp cook. The support vehicle can access the entire route, providing crucial backup in this remote region where emergency services are limited. Riders must bring their own bikes as reliable rental options are not available locally.
This is Kyrgyzstan at its wildest—endless gravel roads through untouched landscapes, starry nights at altitude, genuine cultural exchange with nomadic herders, and the kind of raw adventure that stays with you long after returning home. For experienced riders seeking their next-level challenge in one of the world’s most stunning and remote cycling destinations, this is the ultimate Central Asian bikepacking expedition.
