La Donosti Tourmalet is an unsupported, non-competitive bikepacking journey organized by The Gravelpackers, linking the Basque coast with the heart of the Pyrenees, finishing at one of the most legendary climbs in cycling history: the Col du Tourmalet.
Starting from Donostia–San Sebastián, riders will cross borders, landscapes, and cultures, moving from the Atlantic coast through rolling countryside and remote mountain terrain before reaching the high Pyrenees. The route blends paved roads and gravel sections, with a strong emphasis on scenic riding, endurance, and personal challenge rather than speed or competition.
This is not a race. There is no timing, no rankings, and no pressure. Each rider moves at their own pace and manages their own strategy, effort, and daily rhythm. The experience is built around self-reliance, commitment, and the shared spirit of riding together toward a common goal.
We provide the route planning and official GPX tracks, logistics, accommodation before and after the ride, and a return transfer from the finish. Riders take care of the ride itself.
La Donosti Tourmalet is designed for cyclists with a solid endurance base who are motivated by long days on the bike, meaningful challenges, and the freedom that bikepacking offers.
