La Gloria Overnighter 2027
Las Palmas, Spain 185mi (298km)
La Gloria is a self-supported 185-mile bikepacking event across the rugged mountains of Gran Canaria.
The mixed-terrain route showcases some of the island’s most scenic roads, ever-changing landscapes, and epic sea-to-summit climbs. Mostly following non-technical doubletrack and low-traffic secondary lanes, the route is fully rideable and includes no hike-a-bike sections. The main challenges are the elevation gain and the unpredictable mountain weather.
The route is best ridden on a gravel or mountain bike with low gearing, a light setup, and a recommended minimum tire width of 45mm.
Participants validate their ride by passing through two staffed checkpoints and aim to complete the route within the two-day cut-off time.
With its relatively short distance, La Gloria can be a great introduction to self-supported bikepacking events or a true challenge for seasoned grovellers aiming to ride through the night and finish in under 24 hours.
La Gloria is open to a maximum of 99 participants, with 30 slots reserved to encourage participation from women and non-binary riders.
