The Race to the Rock is a self-supported bikepacking race traversing an incredibly harsh and remote route in Australia. Each year it starts in a new location, but the finish line is always at Uluru (the rock)…

The 2019 Race to the Rock will start, as always, on the first Saturday of September, 7 September 2019 at 6:22am. The start location will be on the beach in Port Douglas, Queensland. The finish will be at Uluru.

Once again this will be a meal with two courses. The entree is Port Douglas to Townsville (750km). The main course is Townsville to Uluru (2,800km). We will start with a selection of far north Queensland’s amazing MTB trail networks and national parks before heading inland from Townsville into perhaps the most remote sections entertained by this race to date with gaps between services close to 500km at time (assuming the services are open at each end)
