Over 2,000 miles and 147,000 feet of elevation gain from Salida to the Pacific Ocean—this is Salida to the Sea!
This Route is a self-supported MTN bike adventure covering just under 2,000 miles of bikepacking through the beautiful isolated terrain of 5 states with approx. 147,000 feet of climbing. The Route begins in the mountain town of Salida, Colorado, and ends at the Pacific Ocean in Port Orford, Oregon.
The journey will begin at 6am Sept. 9th. There will be a group send-off rolling 5 miles of bike path leaving Salida before heading next to the beautiful climb up and over Marshall Pass.
We could tell you about the steepness or length of climbs, the seemingly endless hike-a-bikes on rocky terrain, the distance between resupplies, or the heat of Nevada but, breaking down the Route and discovering its splendor/mysteries/hidden treasures is the beginning of this Adventure. See you in Salida!
