The next Super Jambo Grom Pre – the gravel event for the off-centred cyclist. After a 3 year hiatus the transient cycling weekend is coming to a new location – Thora, Australia. Less the heart of NSW and more the humid armpit.

Thora is a small rural locality in between Bellingen and Dorrigo. It lies on the banks of the Bellingen River and jutted up against the eastern escarpment of the Great Dividing Range. It is a humid climate with abundant river systems and lined with ancient Gondwana rainforest.

The Super Jambo Grom Pre has an abundance of underlying humour and a weekend that is a mix of effort, atmosphere and small meaningful details. Home prepared meals enjoyed in a sit down family style fashion, reversing cycling out of modernity and into community hall, raffle ticket, Country Women’s Association era.

The rides are a negotiation with the kooky Australian bush, no champagne gravel but the more humble bump and bounce of under-cared for roads. This year there are three lengths of routes; 160 km for the serious, 80 km for the experienced, 40 km for the pleasure seekers and a fourth length of 12 km for the families and cycling curious.
