The Golden Horseshoe Race is a 1,650-kilometer bikepacking race through Ontario’s backcountry…
The Golden Horseshoe Race aims to take riders through the best and most remote riding that Southern Ontario has to offer. Over the 1650 kilometre course, you will encounter everything from groomed single track, pristine pavement, and cadillac gravel, to overgrown ATV trails, riverbeds, creek crossings, and long forgotten roads. It will take you from the sprawling expanse of Toronto, to the rolling hills of Dufferin and Grey Counties, before heading east to the twisting roads of the Kawarthas, through Algonquin park, the Ottawa Valley, and eventually back to Toronto. It will be no easy task, regardless of how long you choose to take. You will have to hike, push, and of course pedal, your way around the 1,650 kilometer course to earn your finish. It will be hard, but the rewards will be plentiful. While billed as a race, participants are welcome to ride at whatever pace suits them best.
Registration opens May 1st here.
