Join the inaugural Trans Mni Sota Wheel Race grand depart – a 1,200 mile road ultra-cycling challenge around Minnesota…
The Trans Mni Sota Makoce Wheel Race is a solo, unsupported 1,200 mile paved bikepacking race around Minnesota, the Land of 10,000 lakes. It starts at 7:00 am in White Bear Lake, MN on June 20th, 2021 and finishes in the same location. The clock does not stop, there is no prize money, and there are no awards. The course was curated to set athletes on an adventure along four specific geographical regions of Minnesota, travelling through river valleys, rolling prairie and grasslands, lake country, winding river roads, and tough forested hills and ridges of the Superior Upland. Mni Sota Makoce is from the Dakota language and means “Land Where the Waters Reflect the Clouds.” While it includes the current boundaries of Minnesota, it is not defined by a line on a map. We are going to explore these places while we race through them.
