The first 2023 VIBC camp out is a two day event and we are heading for some oceanside camping at French Beach. Spots are available on a first come first serve basis. There is capacity for 60 folks to join on this event with two different levels of difficulty for a group departure: 1) ~60km ride with 550m of elevation or 2) more spicy ~100km ride with 1,700m of elevation. Situated on the scenic Strait of Juan de Fuca on the west coast of southern Vancouver Island, French Beach Provincial Park offers much more than just beautiful hiking trails through lush forests. A wide swatch of green lawn fronts this sand and pebble beach, where visitors can relax and enjoy a picnic or take a cool dip in the ocean.
