Stealth Top-Loader Review: The Magic Magnetic Top Tube Bag

You’ve likely heard of the Fidlock magnetic water bottle cage system, but Stealth has now adopted this technology for their new Top-Loader to create a quick attach/detach top tube bag system. Neil tested this innovative bag for a good portion of the summer. Check it out in our latest video review…

You may already be familiar with the Fidlock magnetic water bottle cage system. It uses Fidlock’s proprietary magnetic twist-lock sliders to secure the bottle in place. Wellington, New Zealand-based Stealth Bike Bags has now integrated this system into their new Top-Loader, taking advantage of the top tube bosses that we have seen added to many bikes recently. Neil tested this innovative bag over the summer for this video review.

Neil’s Thoughts (from our Index of Top Tube Bags): I hate when things get stale in the bikepacking world. It happens from time to time, but then out of the corner of my eye, I see something that is unique and I get really excited. That’s the case with the Stealth Top-Loader. The Top-Loader is different in that it uses the Fidlock magnetic system to attach to the toptube to replace straps. The design comes with two magnetic bolts that hand tighten to the top tube. While it’s not the most stable bag with the fidlock mounts lifting the bag above the top tube, it’s not all that noticeable while riding. The bag has ample space to fit a day’s worth of snacks, or a full repair kit, including a pump. I give Stealth a big thumbs up for being original and innovative.
