Salsa went back to the Fargo’s roots with the 2020 Apex 1 model, in more ways than one (kind of). The new model gets 2.2″ 29er Sparwood tires and (almost) retro paint and graphics…

When I first saw this foundry photo of the new 2020 Salsa Fargo, I thought it was the Deadwood, reincarnated. But, I’m kind of colorblind and apparently it’s more “hot red” than “burnt orange.” Even so, Salsa made one retro move on the new Fargo. Instead of fitting it with plus or 2.6″ tires, they specced it with 2.2″ Teravail Sparwoods, taking it back to its original intent: to cover more miles on rides such as the Tour Divide. 2020 Salsa Fargo Apex 1 Build

The Fargo frame hasn’t changed. it still has capacity for 27.5+ or 29+ wheels and tires via the rotating Alternator dropouts. As for the build kit, the biggest changes are that it gets i25mm WTB rims and TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes. Here’s the full Apex 1 model kit…
