Announcing the 2021 Bombtrack Hook lineup

Bombtrack just released its 2021 Hook lineup. Instead of having multiple complete models delineated by numbers and suffixes, there are just three bikes within the gravel-adventure range: the base model Hook, the Hook EXT, and the carbon Hook EXT C. Each get a few frame tweaks, new colors, and refined build kits. Here are the details on each.

2021 Bombtrack Hook

Fitted with 700C x 40mm or 650B x 42mm tires, the versatile steel base model Hook still has plenty of mounts for gear options on the frame, including direct mounts for a top tube bag, three sets of triple cage mounts, and rack and fender mounts. Also, the Hook’s full carbon fork has two additional sets of three-pack bosses for further cargo duties.

New for 2021, the Hook specced in size-matched 650b (XS and S) or 700c wheels to standardize the bike’s geometry. In addition, it gets a revised Columbus Cromor double butted frame with a new head tube and 86.5mm wide T47 bottom bracket to increase tire clearance. 2021 Bombtrack Hook Build Kit

The Hook gets a completely new build kit for 2021, featuring a GRX 2×10 group and a Bombtrack Lyer 30mm alloy crank with a direct mount 2x spider. With 32/48t subcompact chainrings and 11-36t cassette, the new drivetrain offers a 491% gear range. Here’s the full build kit:

2021 Bombtrack Hook EXT

With a quality Colombus Cromor frame, a high-end carbon fork, loads of mounting options, and dirt-focused 27.5 x 2.0″ tires, the Hook EXT grabbed a slot in our Gear of The Year awards last year. The 2021 model stays relatively the same with the addition of a revised head tube (40g lighter), a rear light mount, and integrated rear light cable routing. They also added the version 2 model of the full-carbon EXT fork with triple cage mounts and internal dynamo cable routing into the steerer. 2021 Bombtrack Hook EXT Build Kit

Carried over from last year, the 2020 Bombtrack Hook EXT gets a SRAM 1×11 Rival groupset. Build kit tweaks include a KMC X11 EPT Anti Rust Chain and wider 25mm IW rims for improved tire performance. Here’s the full build kit.

2021 Bombtrack Hook EXT C

For 2021, the carbon fiber Hook EXT C gets a new frame and fork with a tapered head tube, thru-axles, rack and fender mounts, stealth dropper post routing, and a T47 bottom bracket. Along with some minimal changes to the geometry, Bombtrack revised the stays and yoke for added chainring clearance. They also added the version 2 model of the full-carbon EXT fork with triple cage mounts and internal dynamo cable routing into the steerer.

Geometry tweaks to the frame include a 5mm longer top tube, 2mm of additional fork offset, and a very slightly longer reach and taller stack. Find the frame specs below and scroll down for the build kit.

The 2021 Bombtrack Hook EXT C also gets an updated build kit. Highlights include a Rival 1 derailleur, shifter, and flat mount brakes, with a SRAM direct mount crankset, HD hub driver, and 10-42T cassette.
