In our first new bike announcement of the year, Marin just released their 2022 Headlands 2, which features a flashy new paint job and an updated build kit. Check it out here…

First released back in 2020, the Headlands is Marin’s take on the modern gravel bike. They claim it can handle “much more than just lazy country roads.” Shorter chainstays, a longer top tube, and a slightly slacker head tube angle all speak to the bike’s ability to tackle off-road terrain. The full-carbon Headlands has clearance for up to 700 x 50mm tires and gets bottle mounts under the downtube, on the top tube, two cargo cage mounts in the main triangle, as well as an extra pair in the triangle and under the downtube. The frame is also outfitted with standard rack and fender mounts should riders desire to run either. Plus, it gets three mounts under the top tube for those who dream about custom bolt-on frame bags.

2022 Marin Headlands 2

Not much has changed for 2022, but it’s exciting to see some new paint and an updated build kit after a year of next to no new bikes. The 2022 Marin Headlands 2 is now based around a 1×11 Shimano GRX RX810 drivetrain, complete with an integrated dropper post lever in the left shifter that operates a TranzX dropper post. It rolls on 700 x 44mm WTB Byway tires, aluminum rims, and has a new red-to-black fade paint job that is almost guaranteed to make you go faster.
