The foul-weather-riding experts at 45NRTH in Minnesota just released a totally redesigned version of their Ragnarök Boots that are built to block the cold and moisture of shoulder season riding. Check them out here…
Minnesota-based 45NRTH first unveiled the Ragnarök shoes in 2018, designed for transition seasons when it’s too warm to layer up with winter gear but cold and wet enough that fingers and toes start to ice over during extended rides. Logan had many positive things to say about them at the time, so we were excited to hear that 45NRTH released a redesigned version for this fall.
The new and improved 45NRTH Ragnarök shares all the same specs as the original, including a 25ºF (-4ºC) comfort temperature rating, a standard two-bolt clipless design, a waterproof breathable membrane, and a neoprene ankle cuff to keep out moisture and grit. The sole and tread of the Ragnarök are much burlier this time around, and it looks more like a proper boot rather than a gravel shoe. It still uses a single-zone BOA closure and a roomy last that leaves plenty of forefoot room, which is great for long, cold rides. The boot has a waterproof construction, but is not 100% waterproof as the PU Microfiber/Synthetic Rubber upper is just highly water-resistant.
The new 45NRTH Ragnarök comes in sizes 36-48 and 50, black and grey color options, and costs $215. Check it out at 45NRTH.com or head into your local 45NRTH dealer.
