The 2023 Focus Raven was just updated with a new carbon frame, more travel, slacker angles, and some interesting features to help dial in the ride. Check it out here…
The 2023 Focus Raven is a carbon cross-country mountain bike kitted out with all kinds of unique features. It’s based around a carbon frame, 120mm travel fork, cockpit-routed cables and hoses, and clearance for 29 x 2.4″ tires. The two top-end builds come complete with dropper posts, all builds feature 1×12 drivetrains, and for folks who want to dial in the ride feel, the head tube is adjustable from 66.5° to 67.5° by turning headset cups. Run it slacker for more downhill control or steeper for more agile handling.
The new Raven has an internal storage compartment on the down tube for stashing ride essentials and spares. We also can’t help but notice its generously large main triangle, which is begging to be filled up with a custom frame bag for bikepacking. The frame has two bottle mounts but is otherwise lacking provisions for racks or other accessories, which is no surprise considering the Raven’s cross-country background.
2023 Focus Raven Builds
The 2023 Focus Raven is offered in three complete build options. The Raven 8.9 features a Rockshox SID Select fork, SRAM GX Eagle 1×12 drivetrain, DT Swiss wheels, and a Post Moderne dropper post. The Raven 8.8 comes with a Fox 34 Rythm fork, Shimano XT 12-speed drivetrain, and a dropper post. The most affordable Raven 8.7 is specced with a Rockshox Rudy fork, SRAM SX Eagle drivetrain, and a rigid seat post. The builds retail for €3,599 (~$3,800 USD), €2,799 (~$3,000 USD), and €2,199 (~$2,300 USD), respectively.
