Esker Cycles just released their 2024 Hayduke and Japhy lineup, both featuring updated paint jobs, new Portage UDH dropouts, and more purchasing options. Check them out here…
The Esker Hayduke and Japhy are the brand’s flagship steel hardtails, and both make great bikepacking bikes. The Hayduke is based around a 120mm travel fork and has 29″ (up to 2.6″) tires, rear rack mounts, and a big main triangle. The Japhy features has all the same specs but has rowdier geometry that’s better suited to downhill singletrack due to its longer and slacker angles. Both feature quad-butted 4130 Chromoly steel frames, external cable routing, adjustable dropouts, and downtube bosses.
Nothing has changed on the geometry front for 2024, but Esker has added fresh new color options into the mix and updated both the Hayduke and Japhy with SRAM UDH dropouts for those looking to run the latest Transmission drivetrains. They also increased the number of ways to purchase an Esker, with more component options for complete builds as well as frame-only, geared, and singlespeed options.
2024 Esker Japhy
The 2024 Esker Japhy comes in three new colors. The Bluebird-Goldbar fade is bound to attract attention. Aurora features a dark purple hue with a tiny bit of sparkle. Raven is a subtle gray. Framesets start at $1,000, complete geared builds at $3,000, and singleseed builds at $2,700 USD. Their bike customizer now allows fork, brake, handlebar, wheel, and drivetrain selection, with several options for each.
2024 Esker Hayduke
The Esker Hayduke also comes in three new colors. The fade option is called Saguaro-Desert fade. Unicorn gets your attention with sparkly accents and hints of black, blue, and purple. Tannin rounds out the lineup with beautiful tawny brown finish. Esker is offering the Hayduke at the same price points with many component options to choose from.
