The 2024 Salsa Stormchaser lineup returns with singlespeed builds, fresh color options, and an interesting new geared version with a dropper post and a 40mm suspension fork. Dig into all the details here…
The Stormchaser was first released in 2020 as a singlespeed gravel bike designed specifically for mud and inclement conditions. While it takes design cues from the Warbird, the Stormchaser is its own beast, including arched Class 5 VRS seat stays, steel abrasion plates on the fork’s interior, internal cable routing, fender mounts, and extra tire clearance. It has 40% more mud clearance than the Warbird and can accommodate up to 700c x 50mm or 650b x 50mm tires.
The Stormchaser was only offered as a singlespeed complete build or frameset when it was released, but in 2022, they introduced a geared version with a dropper post and suspension fork, and we’re excited to see that option making a comeback for 2024. Find details on the 2024 Salsa Stormchaser range below.
2024 Salsa Stormchaser Apex Eagle SUS
As the name suggests, the new Stormchaser Apex Eagle SUS is an entirely new build option based around a mechanical SRAM Apex Eagle drivetrain, a 90mm TranzX dropper post, and a RockShox Rudy XPLR fork with 40mm of gravel-eating suspension. It comes in a fresh new “Berry” paint job and costs $3,199 USD. Check it out here.

2024 Salsa Stormchaser Single Speed
Singlespeers will be relieved to see the original singlespeed Stormchaser live on this year. The 2024 Salsa Stormchaser Single Speed comes in a new “Storm Gray” color, features the same 6066-T6 aluminum frame as the suspension model, and comes equipped with a 17- and 18-tooth cog with a 38-tooth chainring up front. The complete build costs $1,799 USD, and you can check it out here.

2024 Salsa Stormchaser Geometry
A quick glance at the geometry chart shows no changes from the previous versions. It’s still offered in seven sizes, has a 70° head tube angle, 64mm bottom bracket drop, and adjustable sliding chainstays. Salsa’s carbon fork still has triple pack mounts and there are still a number of bosses and bottle mounts on the frame.
