The third generation of Cannondale’s versatile gravel bike, the Topston Carbon, has been fully redesigned with more tire clearance, internal frame storage, UDH rear dropouts, and an updated Lefty Oliver suspension fork. Peek at the 2025 Cannondale Topstone Carbon here…
The Cannondale Topstone was first released in 2019 and marked the beginning of Cannondale’s “Kingpin” rear suspension system. The Kingpin system dishes up 30mm of rear suspension via a “Kingpin” thru-axle pivot in the seat tube. This allows the entire back of the frame—the rear stays, seat tube, even the rear of the top tube—to flex like a series of connected leaf springs, absorbing bumps and road vibration. The third iteration of the Topstone Carbon maintains the Kingpin rear suspension design but sees a complete redesign for 2025.

The 2025 Cannondale Topstone Carbon offers 30mm of rear suspension, but the Kingpin system has been revamped to deliver an even more compliant and smooth ride across all frame sizes. Select models are equipped with the third-generation Lefty Oliver, Cannondale’s ultralight, single-sided suspension fork built specifically for gravel. The Lefty Oliver has been updated with 40mm of travel, a new damper tune, and a smoother ride quality over rougher terrain. The Topstone Carbon receives Cannondale’s “Proportional Response” construction for a size-specific carbon layup and suspension tune that provides an equal ride feel across the entire size range.
Other updates include increased tire clearance (up to 52mm in the back and 56mm up front), Cannondale’s all-new “StashPort” storage system inside the downtube, and internal cable routing via the headset. Frame specs include a BSA threaded bottom bracket, thru-axles, SRAM UDH rear dropout, two standard bottle mounts, top tube mounts, downtube mounts, and three-pack mounts on non-suspension builds. It features a 27.2mm seatpost, internal dropper post routing, and is compatible with both 2x and 1x drivetrains.
