After poring over countless photos and maps, our editors have chosen five first prize winners and 10 runners-up, spanning singletrack epics, gravel loops, and dirt-road rambles. Wow! We received so many great route submissions from all across the globe during our 2025 Fill in the Map Contest. With 85 great routes to drool over, it took us a few weeks to read through all the stories, photos, and maps to pick the best routes to join our ever-growing assortment of Local Overnighters. Our team of editors ranked submissions based on several factors:
- Originality
- Photo quality and diversity of subject matter
- Route format (loop or logical end points)
- And storytelling
