The new 2025 Salsa Warbird updates Salsa’s signature carbon race bike with a new color and updated complete build options. For more on the 2025 Salsa Warbird, dive in below…

The 2025 Salsa Warbird is the same Warbird you’ve come to know and love but with the addition of the Waxwing 2.0 fork that features a full carbon steerer, their existing VRS carbon layup, and modern gravel suspension fork compatibility (up to 40mm of travel). The Warbird is a fast, albeit slightly dated carbon gravel bike for those looking to go almost anywhere quickly.

The primary update here is through the complete options Salsa offers. With builds in four bold new colors (black, tan, olive, and lilac), this new crop of 2025 Salsa Warbird completes gives customers the value of a complete bike with the latest and greatest from Shimano and SRAM. Top specs in both 1x and 2x feature hydraulic brakes, carbon wheels, and electronic shifting for out-of-the-box performance and little need to upgrade.

Available now, the 2025 Salsa Warbird is a bike I’ve found pretty compelling over the years. Given Salsa defined much of the existent gravel segment, it would be a good experiment to get to know one of the original gravel machines a little more intimately. That said, it would also be great to see the company push the developmental limits of the Warbird a bit further. Clearances that max at at 700 x 45mm seem a little dated with many smaller companies giving potential customers access to much wider rubber, among other things. Routing for a dropper, however, is always nice to see, and the name of the game for this bike is value, which the complete options provide.
