The updated 2025 State 4130 All-Road was just announced, and it now features UDH dropouts, dropper post routing, internal cables, and complete builds starting at just $1,000. Find everything you need to know about this budget-friendly steel gravel bike here…

State has released some fresh paint jobs, revised build kits, and subtle spec changes, but nothing significant has changed since the 4130 All-Road was released in 2020. On paper, it has consistently been one of the most value-packed steel bikes available, and while State has increased the price of a complete build slightly for 2025, they’ve introduced some promising new specs we’re happy to see.

The 2025 State 4130 All-Road is the same steel gravel bike we reviewed, still based around a 4130 Chromoly frame, matching fork, plenty of mounting points for racks and cages, thru-axles, and options for flat- and drop-bar builds. The 2025 model introduces many new specs, including a SRAM UDH rear dropout, semi-internal cable routing, internal dropper post routing, top tube bosses, a third downtube mount, and increased tire clearance for up to 27.5 x 2.4″ or 700 x 55mm tires.

There are also a handful of build spec updates, including wider rim profiles (23mm wide for 700c and 25mm wide for 650b), 32 spoke count instead of 28, upgraded hubs, and the stock 15° flare drop bar has been changed to a 33° flare bar. All builds are now specced with a 12-speed drivetrain, a 40T chainring instead of a 42T, an 11-42T cassette with the option for an 11-50T upgrade, and cable-actuated hydraulic brakes come standard instead of as an upgrade.

As always, the 2025 State 4130 All-Road is available in multiple configurations, including drop- and flat-bar setups, and upgrades are available to include a suspension fork, better-performing components, and the ability to shed weight. We’re happy to see State sticking with a competitive price tag, with complete builds starting at just $1,000, making this a worthy entry-level gravel bike platform for anyone interested in getting into bikepacking. The geometry has remained unchanged since our review, so most of what was shared there remains true for 2025.
