The updated Nemo Dragonfly Bikepack Tent features a redesigned handlebar bag, weighs less than the previous version, and has new pole hardware. Take a closer look here…
A lot has changed since I reviewed the original Nemo Dragonfly Bikepack tent five years ago. Nemo wasn’t the first brand to cater a tent design to bikepackers, but they have done a great job at updating their Dragonfly Bikepack series over the years. The last update was in 2023, when they updated the tents with their new recycled, PFC-free OSMO fabric. We’ve been eagerly waiting another since then.
Just announced, the latest Nemo Dragonfly Bikepack Tents received a lengthy list of updates. We’re excited to see a redesigned handlebar bag/storage bag, which finally features a dedicated headtube strap to keep it in place, plus side-release buckles and grippy TPU handlebar straps. Nemo also moved to a double-ended bag, instead of the single-ended opening bag on the previous two versions.
The Dragonfly Bikepack Tent series is still made from the OSMO poly-nylon ripstop fabric, which Nemo claims has “4x longer-lasting water repellency and 3x less stretch when wet.” The tent poles have been updated with hubbed, pre-bent DIAPOLE recycled aluminum poles, including a “Precurve” cross pole that increases volume at the head of the tent. The corner anchors have been updated to a more intuitive system and are still color-coded to match up with the fly. The integrated internal gear loft and pockets are still there, as is the Landing Zone waterproof storage tub in the vestibule, vents, and overhead headlamp pocket.
The one-person tent weighs 3 pounds, 2 ounces (1.41 kilograms) and packs down to 16 x 6″. The two-person model weighs 3 pounds, 12 ounces (1.69 kilograms) and packs down to 16 x 6.5″. Both sizes have a 40″ (101.6cm) peak height, 88″ (223.52cm) length, and are totally free-standing, although having stakes at the doorways is helpful for a proper pitch.
The one-person Nemo Dragonfly Bikepack Tent retails for $529.95 USD, and the two-person model costs $599.95 USD. Visit NemoEquipment.com to learn more.
