8bar Bikes Launches New Bikepacking Bag Range

Best known for their inexpensive, no-nonsense framesets, Berlin’s 8bar bikes just launched a completely redesigned range of bikepacking bags for the upcominng year. Their new release sees updated versions of their existing bags as well as some fresh products. The full range includes a seat pack, frame bag, top tube bag, handlebar roll, and a standalone dry bag. Most are made of waterproof nylon with welded seams, velcro and snap fasteners, and waterproof zippers.

Although the bags don’t look to offer anything particularly innovative or unique, and we haven’t had an opportunity to test their claimed waterproofness, they’re all reasonably priced and could be a worthwhile option for riders looking to pick up entry-level bikepacking bags. 8bar Saddle Bag

The 8bar Saddle Bag features a roll-closure design and attaches directly to the saddle and seatpost via velcro and two buckles. It has a 6-13L volume and a fully waterproof, welded construction with an air purge valve on the underside. Elastic webbing up top allows you to store quick-access items outside of the bag.

8bar Handlebar Roll

More of an accessory bag, the pint-sized 8bar Handlebar Roll features two waterproof zippered compartments, an optional shoulder strap for use off the bike, and a velcro handlebar attachment with an elastic nylon cord for the headtube.
