Across All Borders Ep. 1: Deadhorse to Denali

In April, 23-year-old Tobias Renggli began his “Across All Borders” expedition, traveling from Alaska to Patagonia under his own power, using his bicycle, his own two feet, skis, and sailboats. His roughly 40,000-kilometer route passes through 35 countries, and to make things even more challenging, he’s aiming to climb the highest peaks in each.

This isn’t the first time Tobias has embarked on an expedition like this. In 2022, he visited all 44 European countries in 7 months, visiting each country’s capital and climbing its highest mountain. In 204 days, he covered just over 36,000 kilometers, averaging nearly 200 kilometers per day.

Tobias is currently in La Paz, Baja, Mexico, and today is day 175 of his massive journey. The first episode of his video series documents the vision for the trip, the preparation required for such a massive undertaking, and his time riding the frozen roads between Deadhorse, Alaska, and Denali, the highest mountain peak in North America at over 20,300 feet tall.
