First released back in 2018, the Aeroe Spider Rack is a unique modular rear rack system that can be used alongside the included cradle to hold any dry bag or tent or integrated into a more complex system using Aeroe’s quick-release gear pods. Unlike traditional racks, the Spider Rack mounts directly to the bike’s seat stays using two quick-release brackets. The brackets, rack, and cradles are all adjustable for various rigs and tire sizes, and we were pleasantly surprised with its performance after testing one out last year.
Based on customer requests, Aeroe just released a fat bike-compatible version called the Aeroe Spider Fat Rack. It’s essentially the same as the original but has a wider rack than fits up to 5″ wide tires. The rack includes a single cradle to strap gear in place, and additional cradles can be attached to both sides and the top of the rack, and then rotated 180 degrees to suit considerations such as heel clearance, saddle height, full-suspension use, dropper post clearance, and handling preferences.
