Albion Launches First Women’s Apparel Range

In case you missed it, London’s Albion launched their 2021 spring/summer collection last month, which includes a jersey, windproof vest, bib shorts, and two mesh base layers, all of which are made with performance recycled fabrics. And new for this year, they’ve made everything available in women’s-specific versions.

The announcement of Albion’s first women’s rage follows an extensive development period during which they worked with a team of womenswear developers and expert field testers. The women’s line incorporates the same recycled fabrics as the men’s collection, but with cuts and features that are designed to offer comfort for women on long-distance rides. Introducing the women’s range, Albion co-founder Charlie Stewart said, “…our mission at Albion is to help people go outside and stay there for longer, and the addition of women’s gear is a hugely important stepping stone towards achieving that mission. Women’s is such an exciting and growing area, and we’re delighted to be bringing our approach to riding, and the clothing you need, to more people.”

Albion’s Spring/Summer Women’s Range

Alongside their existing lineup of men’s and unisex products clothing and accessories, Albion’s new 2021 women’s range includes the following four products:

Albion Short Sleeve Jersey

The Albion Short Sleeve Jersey is a lightweight cycling jersey made using a high-stretch, breathable, moisture-wicking fabric, and is designed for comfort and performance when riding in warm weather conditions. Features include a YKK reverse coil camlock zip, three rear pockets, and a premium silicone rear waist gripper. The jersey is available in Burnt Orange, Forest Green, and Pale Blue. It retails for £90.

Albion ABR1 Bib Shorts

The Albion ABR1 Bib Shorts are built with a recycled nylon main fabric and a recycled polyester mesh on the back to aid temperature regulation, wide-leg grippers for comfort and stability, and a pad designed for long-distance riding by Elastic Interface. Features include a reduced panel, anatomical design with compression fit, Premium Elastic Interface ultra pad technology, flatlock seams, and reflective tabs at the side and the rear. They’re available in Black, Navy, and Grey. They retail for £125.

Albion Ultralight Windproof Gilet

The Albion Ultralight Windproof Gilet is a highly packable, lightweight, windproof, and water-resistant cycling gilet. Features include a YKK 2-way double zip, a zippable front stash pocket, stretchy mesh side panels for additional breathability, and reflective details at the sides and rear. It’s available Black and Mist and retails for £100.

Albion Mesh Base Layers

The Albion mesh base layers are available in sleeveless and short-sleeved versions and are designed for effective core temperature regulation when riding in warm conditions. Breathable, stretchy, and soft on the skin, the mesh fabric wicks moisture away from the body, regulating temperature and keeping the wearer comfortable on long days in the saddle. Features include flatlock seams for comfort close to the skin fit and an anti-bacterial treatment applied to the fabric. The Albion mesh base layers are available in White and Pale Yellow and retail for £45 (short sleeve) and £40 (sleeveless).
