The Transibérica BADLANDS is a self-supported gravel bikepacking event following a 750-kilometer route with over 15,000 meters of climbing. The course crosses some of the most remote, diverse, and challenging places in Europe: Sierra Nevada, Gorafe Desert, Tabernas Desert, and Cabo de Gata Natural Park, finishing close to the Veleta Pass. There were over 260 riders registered for this year’s event, split between categories for men, women, and pairs.

The 2021 edition of BADLANDS event drew in two-time gold medal winning Olympic triathlete Alistair Brownlee, who had a strong 7th place finish with a time of 2 days, 11 hours, and 20 minutes. Scott Sports just released a five-minute film documenting his experience and highlighting some of the challenges he faced along the way. The film was produced and filmed by Bridge Agency (@bridgeagency.cc), Diego Sanz (@diegosanzfilmmaker), and Lander Andonegi (@lander_andonegi). Watch it below.
