Owned and run by Flo Haeussler, frame builder and founder of Fern Bicycles, comes Allygn’s new M.U.D. Fork. Allygn is a component company offshoot of Fern Bicycles currently focused on making racks and other bikepacking-centric fare. Following around four years of development, the Allygn M.U.D. Fork is the latest edition to their lineup of unique, versatile components. Dubbed the “Swiss army knife” of carbon forks, the Allygn M.U.D. fork has a distinct focus on dynamo routing. With indentations on the inside of the fork blades and crown for easier routing to both front and rear dynamo-powered lights, this fork has some of the cleanest native dynamo routing available.
The Allygn M.U.D. fork also features three-pack mounts, boasts a 700 x 55mm tire clearance, and maintains a 395mm axle-to-crown length. Folks with 12mm or 15mm front axles need not fret, as the fork supports both. The former is native, and the latter simply requires an adapter sleeve. The fork also features integrated fender mounts, internal brake routing, and a massive 400mm of uncut steerer, so even the tallest of riders can dial in the fit.
Custom colors are available for the Allygn M.U.D. forks, as each is painted in house by multitalented Polish framebuilder Jacek Orlowski, but the base models come in the pictured charcoal/glimmer gray anthracite. Those who purchase the Allygn M.U.D. fork will receive the fork, a 12mm thru-axle, a steerer tube expander with top cap, an Ass Savers Mudder plastic fender, and all the necessary mounting washers and bolts. All that comes at a cost of €580 ($595) including EU VAT.
