On a recent episode of the Bikes or Death podcast, Andrew Onermaa shared details of his single-speed Tour Divide win with host Patrick Farnsworth. In it, they discuss Andrew’s preparation as an employee of Unbound Gravel, his desire to race single speed, his takeaways as a Tour Divide rookie, strategy, and much more. Andrew even dives deep and lets listeners in on the fact that he was pretty close to quitting in the early portion of the race.

For those who weren’t following along, Andrew had a very successful Tour Divide as he narrowly missed out on the single-speed record on his way to the single-geared win. Despite being a relatively well-known name in the space, this is categorically Andrew’s biggest win to date, and something that could mark the start of a successful ultra-distance race career.
