Announced this morning—just a couple of weeks after the release of their new Visibility Vest—the quirky Apidura Expedition Waist Belt is the British brand’s latest wearable accessory. Ergonomically designed with an on-bike position in mind, it features a buckle closure and three cargo pockets that add 1L of easy-access storage, taking the place of cargo bibs or traditional jersey pockets and allowing riders to wear more casual clothing without sacrificing storage. It’s constructed from a lightweight and breathable four-way stretch fabric and sits near the hips, making it easier to get to contents on the go and helping distribute weight when loading up.
Introducing the new belt, senior Apidura product designer Ross Pugh wrote, “…the once essential jersey pocket is becoming a less common sight. With these changes comes the opportunity to overcome the limitations of existing options whilst considering how on-body storage can evolve in-line with changing clothing tastes. Our new Expedition Waist Belt offers 1L of on-body storage, regardless of clothing preferences, without comprising a rider’s layering system.”
The Apidura Expedition Waist is available in two sizes, S/M (75-95cm/29.5-37″) and L/XL (90-105cm/35-41″), weighs 70 grams in size S/M, and is priced at $49 (£38/€44). It’s available now over at Apidura.com.
