The folks at Camp Snap have made it their mission to recreate iconic cameras of the past, but in digital. Camp Snap’s first product was a low-resolution, screen-free digital camera, and it became a hit with bikepackers and travelers looking for a simple, slightly nostalgic way to capture the world around them. Since then, they’ve released updated versions, a video camera, and now another point-and-shoot camera inspired by the classic 110 camera of the 1970s.
The Camp Snap 110 D Camera is impressively compact, taking design cues from the slim, elongated silhouette of the classic 110 camera. It has five interchangeable filters directly on the camera: Standard, Vintage 1, Vintage 2, Analog, and Black & White. Like the rest of Camp Snap’s offerings, there’s no screen, so you have to wait to plug it in at home to see how your photos turned out, which is part of the charm.
The Camp Snap 110 D has a native 8MP image sensor, a pre-installed, upgradeable 4GB microSD card that stores about 2,000 photos, and an internal battery that lasts up to 500 photos per charge. A USB-C cable is included for charging and file transfer. The camera has a f/2.0 aperture, and the fixed 4.2mm focal length is equivalent to 26mm in a standard 35mm. It also has a built-in dual-tone LED flash and strap lugs for first- and third-party camera straps or lanyards. The camera shoots in a simple JPEG format to keep file sharing and transfer straightforward.
The Camp Snap 110 D is open for pre-order today and is offered in two colors: Back in Black (black and gray) and Dreamsicle (white and orange). The pre-order price is $74.95 USD and it’s available at CampSnapPhoto.com.
