The newly released Adventure Range from Carradice in the UK is designed to be durable, light, and weatherproof. Explore the full line of bags here…
Carradice has been designing bags longer than just about anyone. They’ve been crafting high-quality bicycle gear for over 90 years and have developed a reputation for their commitment to quality craftsmanship. In short, if you have a Carradice bag, it will last. The brand primarily used heavy-duty waxed canvas and other durable materials initially, but that has started to change recently to meet the demands of modern bikepackers and tourers.
Just released, the new UK-made Adventure Range takes this concept a step further and includes a selection of bags (including some new designs) explicitly made for bikepacking and long-distance tours. Each bag in the lineup is made from military-grade Cordura and offers exceptional durability, weather protection, and stability for off-road riding. Let’s dig into the lineup.
Bowland Bar Bag
The Bowland Bar Bag is available in 12L and 20L capacities and made from waterproof 1000-denier military-grade Cordura with a taped sealed orange lining. It features a roll-top closure, a reflective Carradice logo, and a rigid base for stability. High-wear areas of the bag are reinforced for extra durability, and the bags weighs approximately 0.7 kilograms (1.5 pounds). It costs $157 USD (£104) and is available for pre-order now.
Colorado Saddlebag
The Colorado Saddlebag is the first non-top-opening saddlebag from Carradice. Instead of relying on straps under the saddle rails, it includes a rigid Bagman Saddlebag Support Rack for the bag to slide onto for support. The bag can hold up to 17L. It’s 100% waterproof thanks to taped seams, has a light loop, and the top features bungees for lashing down small items and layers. The Colorado Saddlebag weighs 650 grams (1.4 pounds), costs $179 USD (£119), and is available for pre-order from Carradice.co.uk.
Odyssey Saddlebag
If the Colorado Saddlebag isn’t big enough, the Odyssey Saddlebag’s 26L capacity might be more alluring. It’s a more traditional top-opening saddlebag and has an internal rigid rack support for the Bagman Expedition Quick Release Support Rack. It has the same construction and taped seams as the others and weighs 0.82 kilograms (1.87 pounds) without the quick-release adapter. The Odyssey Saddlebag costs $179 USD (£119) and is available for pre-order now.
PENNINE TOP TUBE BAG
The Pennine Top Tube Bag is a simple strap-on top tube bag with a 1.5L capacity, Cordura construction, and internal storage liner for organization. Carradice used upcycled inner tubes on the base of the bag to both protect the bike and offer some padding, and there are reflective logos on the sides for visibility. The Pennine top tube bag weighs 150 grams (0.33 pounds), costs $52 USD (£34), and is available for pre-order now.
Cambrian Lightweight Saddlebag
The Cambrian Lightweight Saddlebag is a smaller and lighter version alternative to the Colorado Saddlebag. It has a 16L capacity, roll-top closure with a large flap opening, and is also designed to be supported by the Bagman Sport Quick Release Support Rack. The Cambrian weighs 700 grams (1.5 pounds) and is available for pre-order now for $142 USD (£94). Learn more here.
