A friendly reminder that the cutoff to become a sustaining member of the site by joining the Bikepacking Collective in time to receive the special 10th issue of The Bikepacking Journal and be eligible to win a Chumba Yaupon frame or one of around 15 other prizes is just around the corner on Monday, April 17th!

One lucky site supporter will take home a $1,695 Texas-built steel Yaupon in their choice of one of four sizes (from small to extra large) and several colors (Anthracite, Gloss Black, Hero Dirt, Lilac, Matte Papaya, Stoney Turquoise, or Team Light Blue). What’s more, as a bonus, we’re happy to share the news that makers Katie and Andrew Strempke of Dispersed Bikepacking (@dispersed.bikepacking) are throwing in a custom full-frame bag to sweeten the deal, which is up to a $295 value, depending on materials and features.

Chumba Yaupon Review

If you’re unfamiliar with Chumba’s Yaupon, it’s an impressive drop-bar mountain bike designed around a 120mm suspension fork. It’ll clear burly 29 x 2.6″ or 27.5 x 2.8″ tires, and it can be run geared or single speed thanks to its Paragon Machine Works sliding dropouts. The frame sports top tube mounts, internal dropper routing, two sets of standard bottle bosses inside the rear triangle, and a set of three-pack mounts under the downtube. There’s ample room for that Dispersed frame bag, too. You can find a more detailed look at the Yaupon’s features on Chumba’s website or in our full review and the giveaway announcement, both of which are linked below.
